History of the African American Heritage
Foundation of Maui

In 1985 weekly meetings were held by AAHFM founder Roberta Courier during Black History Month.  Attendees were local residents of Maui with interests in increasing awareness of African American contributions and culture.  From these humble beginnings, AAHFM has expanded its awareness efforts to include additional annual activities.  The AAHFM is a non-profit organization under IRS tax classification 501 © 3.  Appropriate donations to the AAHFM are tax deductible.

Membership is open to anyone willing to abide by the By-laws and demonstrate a sincere interest in fostering and preserving the African American culture through educational and ethnic awareness activities.
